Hand Lettering & Calligraphy

Over the years I have done a lot of design work. I have done illustration, web design, templates, tutorials…you name it and I have probably done it. Over the years I have always had a favorite…custom lettering. I love the way great hand drawn lettering and calligraphy looks. My wife always makes fun of me because on tv or movies or signs or invitations I always comment on the lettering, especially if they were lazy and just used a quick free font-scriptina or papyrus much? Not that I always use custom typefaces, sometimes budget/time makes it impossible but I do try to steer away from the truly overused fonts-even if I have a soft spot for Porcelain…

Whoops bit of a tangent there. Anyways what it boils down to is this. I have decided to focus on custom lettering and calligraphy full time. I will still take on design/illustration projects but I am going to devote all of my time to learning calligraphy and custom lettering to the nth degree. So here on the blog I will be posting sketches, practice, alphabets, ideas, inspiration…maybe some interviews all about custom lettering and calligraphy.

So keep following here on the blog and see what we can learn together…
